Good to Know
- Sri Lanka is a tropical country, ideal clothing would be cotton and comfortable clothing. Shorts and T-shirts are ideal other than when visiting the temples. Ladies are required to cover the shoulders as well.
- The temperature throughout the year in law land areas ranges between 25 to 35 Ċ and in the hill country between 20 to 25 Ċ during the daytime. During the night it can drop a little below 15 Ċ in certain months of the year.

Airport to Negombo
On arrival in Sri Lanka, you will first proceed to the Negambo hotel. Check-in and stay leisure.
Negombo to Anuradhapura
After breakfast, proceed to Anuradhapura, Overnight stay your own arrangement hotel.
Anuradhapura and Aukana city tour
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up and take you to the first kingdom of Sri Lanka. Visit the sacred ancient city of Anuradhapura.
You will see the colossal Abhayagiri Stupa, Jetawanarama Stupa – the tallest stupa on earth, and the Ruwanmeli Stupa, Samadhi Buddha Statue as well as the Ruins of ancient royal palaces and museums. (Entrance fees: direct)
Another amazing site would be the ‘Sri Maha Bodhi’ or the sacred Bo tree grown from a branch of the very tree under which the Lord Buddha attained enlightenment – the oldest historically documented tree in the world – over 2200 years old (Entrance fees: direct)
After the Anuradhapura city tour proceeds to Aukana to see the statue of the Aukana Buddha. This is undoubtedly the most magnificent undamaged ancient image in the island. (Entrance fees: direct)
After Aukana temple proceeds to Sigiriya hotel overnight stay as your arrangement.
Sigiriya and Minneriya Village tour
After breakfast, begin the morning by climbing the rock fortress of Sigiriya.
See the famous frescoes of the ‘Heavenly maidens’ of Sigiriya in a sheltered pocket of the rock and the 10-foot high Mirror Wall. At the foothills, visit the Sigiriya museum as well. (Entrance fees: direct)
After that visit a traditional Hiriwadunna Village. Start the journey along the way of Habarana lakeside viewing the natural surrounding with a beautiful atmosphere. Arriving at Paranagama village where you can see the people cultivating & gardening. Visit a small house made out of the mud to experience the lifestyle of the rural villages, where you can witness a village-style cooking demonstration, as well as to taste authentic food and drink.
Thereafter proceed to a nearby lake and embark on a local catamaran boat which is called the Oruwa. Refresh with a coconut drink Kurumba or Thambili. Thereafter visit the Habarana Lake on the Oruwa to witness the village’s fishing in the Lake. (Entrance fees: direct)
Polonnaruwa and Minneriya Elephant safari
After breakfast, visit one of the ruins of ancient Ceylon situated in Polonnaruwa.
Then, you will proceed to Minneriya National Park for an Elephant Safari.
After the safari, back to the hotel in Sigiriya stay leisure.
Sigiriya to Trincomalee
After breakfast, proceed to the Trincomalee hotel. Check-in and enjoy the beach. In the evening you can visit one of the biggest Load Shiva statue and Hindu temple in Trincomalee. Also, you can visit Trincomalee harbor, Old dutch port, Hoods tower Museum.
Trincomalee to Pigion Island
After breakfast, proceeds to Nilaveli Beach for Pigeon Island Diving and snorkeling Tour.
After the visit, back to the hotel and stay leisurely.
Trincomalee to Kandy
After breakfast, continue to Dambulla, to explore the famous Golden Rock cave temple which has been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After visiting the Dambulla Cave temple, proceed to Kandy. En-route, stop by the Matale Spice Garden for a quick visit.
After visiting the Spice Garden in Matale, proceed to Kandy and check in to the Hotel. Spend the day relaxing at the hotel arranged by you.
After breakfast, you will proceed to the Kandy City tour.
First, you will proceed to the Temple of the Tooth.
In the evening you will be experiencing and enjoying the “Cultural Show” in Kandy, performance of the traditional Kandyan dance accompanied by tumultuous drumming.
After all, back to the hotel and stay relax.
After breakfast, you will visit the Royal Botanical Garden.
Then, proceed to Bahirawakanda Temple in Kandy. Then, you will proceed to the Gem Museum situated in Kandy. Don’t forget to visit the 2nd world war cemetery in Kandy and Bathik and the wood carving factory.
Kandy to Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast, you may proceed to Nuwara Eliya, En-route passing magnificent waterfalls, through pine and eucalyptus forests into immaculately manicured tea plantations and visit a tea factory.
As mentioned above on the way, you will proceed with Ambuluwawa Temple tower visit, Ramboda falls, and Tea plantations.
After all, visit the hotel and overnight stay at Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya to Ella
Early morning we have to leave from the hotel with picnic Break Fast Packets for Horton Plans trekking.
After the trekking, we have to catch a train to Ella. Train travel in Sri Lanka is both a beautiful and affordable way to see the country, and no trip is more scenic than the train from Nanu Oya to Ella.
After breakfast, you will proceed to the Ella city tour.
